I think we are getting a couple of generations mixed up. Jeremiah SR is the son of James who is the son of William of Guilford Co.NC. Now Jeremiah SR had a son named Jeremiah who married Mary Echols. They had a son James Milton. I don't know if the James Reeves whose death certificate is dated 1920 in Atlanta GA and he was buried in Cave Springs GA. It doesn't name his mother. His age was given as 78 so that would make him b about 1842. I thought maybe he was a son of Jeremiah Jr. I have no way of proving that at this time but was hoping someone from this line might be a member of this list that had some type of proof of this connection Beulah This James is the son of Jeremiah Reeves Sr. of Wilkes Co. GA. He was well known throughout GA as he started many churches. ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Beulah I believe that the James you are talking about here is the one who first married Sarah McElroy and then Nancy (Harper) Phillips, although I have his death date as April 6th, 1858 in the seventy-fourth year of his age (History of Georgia Baptist page 319,320,321,322)The Nancy Harper Phillips is the sister to my gg grandfather William A. If the info about James Milton Reeves being the son of Jeremiah Reeves, Jr. came from Reeves Review II, it is in error. I spent 6 months trying to document that connection with no success, as my great-grandfather was named James Milton Reeves. Reeves Review II shows some of my great-grandfather's children's names under his, so I know that book is in gross error in connecting him to Jeremiah. I have documented that my James Milton Reeves 1824-1897 was the son of William Reeves b.1794 in York County, SC. Of course there is a chance there were two James Milton Reeves in that time frame, but I have found no evidence of it. Anyone wishing to examine the correct lineage of my James Milton Reeves is invited to visit my rootsweb.com site at: <http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=paulreeves94&id=I0017> I will be glad to exchange information about this connection with anyone who is interested.
