Please get in touch. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > QUERY Sent: Sunday, November 18, 2007 5:36 pm Several of us would be interested in the younger Archibald Reeves. Is he a descendant of Archibald T. Reeves? If you don't mind to share we would be interested Tommie Reeves Smith -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > REPLY Certainly I'll be pleased to share. I found Squirrelgirl's query while trawling the net for my own geneaology research. She asked: "I am looking for information about Archibald Reeves, Jr. born approximately 2/17/1867 but possibly as late as 1877 (I have conflicting info from marriage certificate and ship manifest). He married Annie Gwillym and had 3 boys, Frank Archibald (b. 1905); Alfred (b. 1907); and Clyde (b. 1909). His father was also Archibald (b. ~1846) and his mother was probably Jane. "Archibald Jr. and Sr. worked on the Panama Canal and returned from the zone in 1913-14. They were from Lansford, Carbon County, PA but may have branched off into Plainfield, NJ when they returned. "Unfortunately, county records weren't kept that far back so I can't get any other info from them. Hope someone can help!" The information I have includes a reference to a JANE REEVES, nee BROWN, who I think is almost certainly the mother mentioned above. I had collated all the info into a single text, attached here (the text is colour coded to indicate sources but is easier to read in a black-and-white print-out). I would caution, however, that it is mostly derived from typewritten notes compiled by long-dead relatives, so I can't vouch for the accuracy or reliability of their sources. If anyone's able to add to or confirm any facts on the American side I'd welcome that! Stephen (great grandson of John and Catherine Brown, brother and sister-in-law of Jane Reeves nee Brown)
