    3. Billy, Thank you very much for sharing this information with the list. The one thing you said that really caught my attention was about the "exact" route taken by those who migrated to Tennessee, Missouri and Arkansas from the Carolinas. I for one and I believe many others would be very interested in hearing more about this. I have been trying to determine my ancestors route from Lincoln County, NC to west Tennessee for years with little success. I was fortunate to run across a copy of part of a letter that was written by one of my ancestors back to relatives that remained in North Carolina. However, the part I have only mentions the date of arrival in west Tennessee and brief details of the journey itself. Could you share that route with us? My ancestors were from NC. The earliest ancestor I have nailed-down is John Dourdan/Durden Reeves b. Halifax County NC. He married in Cumberland County NC and finally settled in Surry County NC. I have reasonable belief that his father was George Reeves born about 1735 in VA. I am going to attach a document to your (rdrii@yahoo.com) private e-mail address that will give some credence to my thinking. I hope to hear back from you soon and maybe we can assist one another. Additionally, I was fortunate enough that some of my very special NC relatives had the presence of mind to retain and maintain some very old letters. One was written from Lexington, Henderson County, TN on 27 July 1866 by my gg grandfather Richard Elwell Reeves. The info in the letter has answered many questions. The NC relatives presented the original 141 year old letter to me while I was out there in October for a CW historical site dedication for Major Richard E Reeves. This was the first time one of the Tennessee transplanted Reeves had returned to the NC apple tree since my gg grandfather Richard left in abt 1821. This was possible through the generous efforts of Terry Reeves and Marion Venable of NC. It was such an honor and pleasure to meet and enjoy the company of all the family I had not known prior to the efforts of Terry and Marion and their drive to call to assembly all who were there I have 93 other pages of various letters written by my relatives from Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee back to Surry County NC. I told you all this to say, "Through all these letters I have found the exact route most traveled while migrating West to TN, MO and AR." I will share any information that may assist you in your research. Some of the names mentioned in these letters were: Jesse Reeves, John Reeves, James Glass, Tom Reeves, Mr. Jenkins, Hester Reeves, Nancy Dock & Mr. Dock, Dr. William R Lovill husband to Eliza G Reeves, Tomas Reeves, John Franklin Reeves, Amanda Parlee Davis, Henry Clay Reeves, Lee Gran Reeves, Robert Willis and Lewis Whitaker. Most letters were written from Independence County AR, Kingsville MO, Warrensburg MO, Morristown MO, Henderson County TN, Cumberland County TN and Putnam County TN. The dates range from 1856 to 1869. I am writing all this to, hopefully, jog some memories that might assist all of us in finding the earliest "two of our line". Somewhere out there in someone's stack of insignificant-looking paper is the key to some breakthrough. In group # 6 of our Y-DNA Test Group it seems we have been, tentatively, identified in as descendants of Henry Reeves. My estimation places us branching off at George Reeves Sr. It would be very helpful to have details of this Group 6 tree.
