Have traced my Reeves back to Iredell, Rutherford, Buncombe NC area.Not really sure if mine are Reeves or connected to the Reavis Family as many documents I have found seem to have changed the spelling when they went to Tennessee. My particular line left NC abt 1802 and went to Sumner Tenn. then in 1806 went to Lafayette La. 1840 to Texas. Edmond Reeves Reviss Reavis b abt 1755 married Sarah Sallie Doyle Dial possibly second wife. Sons John M Reeves b 1772 NC d 1828 Lafayette La. James D. Reeves b abt 1786 NC d 1824? Lafayette La. Joseph Reeves b abt 1782 d 1838 Lafayette La. William B. Reeves b 1793 d 1863 in Houston Tx Edmond B. Reeves b 1800 NC d after 1870 Lafayette La. Sarah Reeves b 1800 NC died 1881 in Columbus Ga married to Isaac Attaway of Lauren Co. SC abt 1821 Have been looking through deed and court records for Buncombe and Madison Co. Several Reeves families there. They seem to have left and gone to Ga. Does anyone have connections in Buncombe or Madison Co. NC?
