In Response to Lea Peacock - I find your Abner Reeves in my data base (however, I fear my birth date for him may be a typo when I see the date you have). According to the information I have, his father was Malachi Reeves (b. abt. 1707 in North Carolina, d. aft 1872 in Granville Co., North Carolina). I do not have his wife's name. Lea, I have about a 10 page report on Malachi and his descendants but fear it would be too long to include on this list but would be happy to attach to an e-mail directly to you if that is okay. Several years ago, I had the good fortune to be in the Carolina's on a business trip and took an afternoon to explore in the Old Courthouse in Wilkesboro (they were about to move into a new building) and found some interesting Reeves documents I copied. Also spent my evenings in the library in Charlotte where I got a lot of notes of Reeves's legal activities - much of this is still in notes but some has been added to my data. This may not be proof as solid as you might like but it will definitely provide you some clues. You will find my references included with the report. Archer was Martha Adeline "Mattie" Archer b 15 January Georgia, d 165 December 1909, De Leon, Comanche County, Texas and married to William Tilman Henderson 2 October 1881 in Camp Hill, Tallapoosa County, Alabama Richard Cecil Henderson b 7 July 1898 Ben Arnold, Milam Co. Texas d 225 August 1977 De Leon, Texas md Willie Ella Barnes 29 June 1919 and I am their daughter. Joe, I am intrigued by the information you have about Malachi Reeves. I believe that my one of my ancestors is Malachi who died in Cobb County, Georgia in 1850. In trying to piece his family together I run into many earlier and contemporary Malachi's, particularly given the custom of naming children after parents and relatives. To make a long story short, I am making an attempt to sort out all of the various Malachi's in SC, NC and Georgia and then on to Alabama, Texas and Arkansas in an effort to determine relationships. I would very much appreciate a copy of your notes on the Malachi described below and others named Malachi. On a different note, my great-great grandfather, Leroy Reeves, appears to have had a brother named Littleton Reeves who moved to Maurice Township, Arkansas sometime between 1851 and 1860. Richard A.
