    1. [REEVES] Roll Call
    2. Just a short note to say hello to everyone on the list and hope everyone is working on their Reeves Line. I know with the nice weather here in a lot of places everyone wants to be out but I also know some of you live in the areas that have had problems. I do hope everyone is OK and have not been hurt due to the different weather conditions. I think it would be good if we had a roll call and everyone post the line they are working on at the present time. While I am still trying to find more proof of my Joel Avery as the son of Jeremiah I am also beginning to work on finding proof for Jeremiah's father who is James. I do have the will that states Jeremiah is his son I need more proof to back it up. I know James had several children and if anyone descends from anyone in that family I would love to hear from you. We have a large number of subscribers so we should all be able to connect in some way to at least one or two others. Looking forward to hearing from each of you. 3. My maternal GGGrandparents were Elijah (1815-1876) and Jane Ross Reeves (1826-1907). They raised their family and died in Hancock County, Ind. Even though I have been able to gather a lot of Elijah's ancestors information, I am trying to connect with their descendents. I am also seeking more information on Jane Ross Reeves' ancestors. Any help would be appreciated. jo On May 9, 2007, at 9:23 PM, Bgr520@aol.com wrote: > Just a short note to say hello to everyone on the list and hope > everyone is > working on their Reeves Line. 3. NATHAN REAVES b. NC abt. 1780–JAMES B. REAVES/REEVES b. MARION TN 1829-30 Researching James B Reeves/Reaves of Jackson AL and Dade GA. James was born 1829/30 in Marion TN. He lived in Trenton Dade Co.GA according to the 1860 census and Civil War Records. James was in Jackson AL in the 1870 census living w/ Sarah 80 years old and blind. I have been trying to find his parents. I believe Sarah 80 blind in the 1870 census is his mother. I found Nathan and Sarah Reover/Reaves in the 1860 census. I think this may be James Bridgeman Reeves' parents but still have no definite proof. Jackson Co.AL probate has a land record for Nathans Reaves dated 1855 that borders Marion TN, Jackson AL and Dade GA. This information came from the probate office in Jackson AL.I am looking for anything to prove or disprove the connection. They did not have any deed or will records. Does anyone have any information with Nathan b 1780 NC or Sarah b 1785 NC Reaves? I am also trying to find a contact for Trenton Dade GA and Marion Co TN that may have any will, deed, 1850 census or any records. 3. Howdy all, I'm one of the new ones here, and I'm pretty well stuck. I used to have access to a larger number of files my grandmother had done, but that was when I was a teenager. I only have bits and pieces of memory from looking through those and a have a few thing pictures with info. My line is: Shirley Reeves (Soto) Myself Paul Q. Reeves (b. 1950) Virgil Reeves (1917-1969) Paul Reeves (1893-1981) Calvin Reeves (1838-?) That's where my info ends. The ? on my gggf is just because I don't have ready access to the date. I know I've seen it on something that I have, it's just not handy. Calvin had 2 marriages, my ggf Paul was from the second marriage, Nancy Dearing, I think. I remember from my grandmother's research there was a Rev. James Reeves (South Carolina?) directly down the line, but I don't remember names to connect from Calvin to him. Maybe one day I'll have access to the information again, but for now I'm on my own. I'd love to have any further information. Shirley
