    1. Re: [REEVES] Reunion of Reeves
    2. I hope you will encourage some of them to join our DNA Project. We need to make more matches. Reunions is a great time to do this. Please mention it to one and all. If someone wants more information please give them my email or Barry's and we will be glad to help them. When you attend reunions it means you are interested in family and what better way to show interest than to join the Project to help prove your heritage. Start a family project with some doing book work others joining the DNA Project and others doing leg work by going to court houses, archives etc. Think how much fun the next reunion will be with all the info coming in. Also the folklore. The older ones telling of their grandparents and ggrandparents. The bases of a great web site also Let's all remember as we take our vacations to pick up a little information about the family. Take a tape recorder and tape what the older ones are talking about, you might even pick a recipe for grandma's caramel cake.............. I wish we had done that many years ago. Now those things are gone forever. As we travel around this summer just remember it is surprising what you can do in a short period of time, and how much it will mean to you years later. I have recently discovered a new line of REEVES from Henderson County TN. Some of the family has invited me to a reunion at Natchez Trace State Park this Sunday on 8 July. I have tried to link them into my REEVES Branch (Richard E Reeves) but they have not targeted any of my ancestors that put-down roots in Henderson County. Looking through all US Census Records I found the earliest one in 1850 to be AP Reeves Female Head of Household. She was born abt 1810. The reunion is the descendants of John Buchanan (Buck) Reeves. I have not been able to progress back beyond his mother with a definite link. I will paste the earliest record. I would certainly appreciate any assistance from anyone that may have any information. I found several REEVES in Henderson County TN around this period but have not been able to establish a link to Buck or Richard Reeves. Prior to 1850 there is Drury, John, Richard E and John H Reeves. When I built this brief tree I had not noticed that A P Reeves was a female. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
