My g-g-g-grandmother, Barbary (Barbara) Reeves, was born July 3, 1777, place unknown. She married William McElvy on April 23, 1799, place unknown. She died on Feb. 5, 1838 in Decatur Co, GA. She is buried in the Attapulgus/Fowltown area of Decatur Co, GA. William & Barbary were in Burke Co, GA in 1800, then in Tattnall Co, GA from 1803 to 1824 and then in Decatur Co, GA where she died. I have many descendants of William McElvy and Barbary Reeves McElvy. After 18 years of research, I still have nothing regarding the parents, siblings, etc. of Barbary Reeves. The only clue I have is regarding a George Reeves. William McElvy was the administrator for the estate of George Reeves in Burke Co, GA in 1803. It seems logical to assume that George was related to Barbary Reeves McElvy, however, I have found no info on George Reeves. I would like to do a DNA, but I was informed that I could not because my ancestor was a female. Any info will be appreciated. Liz Gerlits Palm Bay, FL **************Start the year off right.
