    3. A "Hiram" Reeves (Reaves) lived in Coweta County - b:1825. He married there and had a family. I wonder if he is the same HIRAM who lived in SC and married in Pendleton District? I hope so - I can hook up the information. I believe the GA wife was named Catherine. I also believe that Jeremiah, Zachariah etc. lived in Union County, SC, moved to Ga, then TN.....I believe that Jane Reaves (Reeves), daughter of Asa Reaves (Reeves) of same family married a Shumate and that Asa died while living with them. Please let me know if any of these names are familiar to you. By the way, the Shoemaker/Shumate, (other spellings) were living every place the Reaves/Reeves lived. The last child I have of Hugh & Jane is Susannah b. 1823. Since Jane was only 40 years old in 1830, she could very well have had another daughter in 1825. So now I ask, "why the mystery" ? 2. That's what I am thinking also Sharon, but of all the Irwin's and Reeves in Meigs County, I can't seem to find a Sarah IRWIN b. abt. 1825. The Stacy Reeves you mention was married to Elizabeth Howell, a daughter of Jane (IRWIN) Howell. 1805 - Jane (IRWIN) Howell was a daughter of 1781-Hugh M. IRWIN. Another daughter of Hugh, 1805 - Elizabeth Irwin married Solomon REEVES. So I would think that the Sarah Irwin might be connected to these families. 3. Hi Tommie, thanks for that its a good suggestion. However, one of the reasons why we have 'lost' this part of the family is that they were originally Presbyterians and my grandfather converted to Catholicism in order to marry my grandmother. So his brothers and father disowned him ... hence my search for the missing relatives! However I know that the Chicago Reeves (from William & Elizabeth Reeves) had 6 children, and were married in a Catholic Church in Dublin .... so obviously someone there 'crossed the line' as well!! Sue Tommie Smith <tommiess@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Sue, My only suggestion is one I have not personally used. From Belfast to Chicago leads me to think they may have been members of the Catholic Church. Another non Reeves associated line did that. Could you check the appropriate cities for Baptisms of Babies and their names? I have not proven my immigrants and my Thompson Reeves b. 1799 was born in S.C. Good luck to you. Tommie Reeves Smith ----- Original Message ---- From: Sue Russell To: reeves@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2007 5:12:43 PM Subject: [REEVES] The last Reeves in our family Sad to report the death of my late mother's last sister - Phyllis Murray (nee Reeves) in Napier, New Zealand on July 21st, 2007. She was the last of five Reeves sisters - May, Elizabeth, Madeleine (my mother) and Gladys - all born in Dublin, Ireland. So, as far as I can ascertain, this brings to a close this Reeves line. Out there somewhere there may be offspring of Alexander Reeves & Lillian Suffern who were married in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1905. They had at least one daughter Doreen Reeves, born circa 1907 - but not sure if there were any male children. But have not given up hope of finding the Chicago line .... have posted on this previously, but no luck so far. Seems its much easier to track the dead than the living!
