    3. I had both eyes done in September, and I can't begin to tell you how much better I see. You won't believe the brilliance of the colors you will be seeing. Best of luck. I also wish I had a male relative for the DNA project, but I have found some relations with others that have taken the DNA route. ----- Original Message ----- From: "laverne raisch" <boblarai2@yahoo.com> To: <reeves@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 05, 2007 10:56 AM Subject: Re: [REEVES] DNA project > Barry - I am glad to hear of your success with one eye and hope for the > same fwith the second. Parts of Buncombe became Madison County in I believe about 1850. The problem with Buncombe is the courthouse was burned 3 times so some records are missing. 3. Listers, In the past few days I focused on another of the various men named Malichi. In 1850 for this man he is with his wife and children and clearly named Malichi. In 1860, 1870, and 1880 he is referred to as M.W. but his wife and children remain constant. Through these years they remain in Madison co. N.C. This Malachi should have had a birthday in 1823. Does anyone know his father? I am really interested in the Malichi who was in Cobb co. Ga. in 1840. Richard and I have discussed him at length in regard to a possible relation ship to John and Littleton Reeves who lived near each other in Cobb Co. in that period. 3. Hi Tommie, Do you think that your Thompson and Burgess are brothers? I agree with you that Burgess is probably the father of my Archibald T. Reeves, but I haven't documented that relationship. You and someone on rootsweb have Archibald dying in TX, but I'm pretty sure he died in Randolph Co., Alabama. I found a picture of his headstone and some information about him on findagrave.com. I did raise the flag about Reeves Tractors when I saw one on the "Antiques Roadshow" The history I found led to Columbus Indiana. I am going to paste something I found on a discussion group. It mentions names and you may can identify with some of them. I would like to know if you can. I have not had time to run them through censuses. Let's see if this attachment works. Nope sending the whole page did not work. Try typing in this title. There are pictures of Reeves men and their operation and products. If this does not work let me hear. In fact I would like to hear what you think anyway. 1. [REEVES] Archibald T. Reeves
    2. Tommie Smith
    3. Diane , There are a couple of things to think about. Your Archibald T. is almost certainly the son of Burgess Reeves b. 1794. Burgess is also the father of a Thompson Reeves b. ca 1830 ( not my Thompson of 1799 but probably his nephew.) This Thompson the son of Burgess and brother to Archibald T. does have someone who sent in their DNA. He is Robert Reeves who is still alive. In fact he will celebrate his 100th birthday this month in Oklahoma. Robert is the son of Columbus Marion Reeves b. 1871 and grandson of Thompson Reeves b. 1832 and great grandson of Burgess Reeves b. 1794. Like you Linda Leedon did not have a direct line except for her uncle Robert in Oklahoma. She knew him well and he very willingly contributed his DNA. If you look in group # 3 you will see the dna reports of Robert as well as for my Nephew Stephen Gregory Reeves shown. Stephen and I do not descend from Burgess but I know that we descend from Thompson Reeves b. 1799. So we won't have a perfect match until we prove for sure who the parents of Burgess b. 1794 and Thompson b. 1799 are. The numbers for Stephen and Robert are quite close as you can see. We have only one or two numbers away. Yours would probably be more like Robert's.as a Burgess Reeves descendant. Would you tell us again how your line goes up from yourself? I will paste below what I believe is right for Burgess. Burgess lost about 10 sons in the Cival War. Descendants of Burgess Reeves Generation No. 1 1. 1. [REEVES] New Family History Book
    2. Dear List Members: I have just finished writing my family history book about my g-g-g-grandparents, William McElvy (1781-1842) and his wife, Barbary Reeves McElvy (1777-1839). William was a Primitive Baptist preacher. William & Barbary are first found in Burke Co, GA, then in Tattnall Co, GA and then in Decatur Co, GA where they lived until their death. They are buried in Decatur Co, GA. Although I know nothing about the ancestry of William or Barbary, I do have many McElvy/Reeves descendants in the book. It also includes many black & white photographs and color photographs as well as maps, documents and much more. My book is for sale to anyone who is interested. Please contact me off the list at _DLizgerlits@aol.com_ (mailto:DLizgerlits@aol.com) for further info.
