Joe, Thanks for signing up. I don't have access from work to approve your request on FaceBook, but will do it as soon as I get home this evening. That is interesting about your trip to Searcy, Arkansas. I have the originals for two photos of a man with the last name RIVES. I don't remember his first name off the top of my head. But I have scanned and uploaded these photos to the Reeves Registry website as well as the photo album in the Reeves Registry group on FaceBook. I am not related to this person and have not run across anyone so far that claims him. Interestingly, the only thing written on the back of the pictures is his name and the words "Searcy, Arkansas". Take a look at the photos when you get a chance. Maybe when you make your trip to Searcy, someone there will know who he is. The photos are in very good shape, but look like they were probably taken in the 1870's or 1880's. Looking for any information on my great uncle's family. George J Reeves was born in 1828 in Kentucky - In 1850 he was living in Posey County and married Caroline Downey (unsure of correct spelling). Caroline was born 1830 in Indiana. They also lived in Gibson County. George died between 1871 and 1880. George and Carolyn had eight children: John W - born about 1852 James W - born about 1854 Permelia - born 1857 and died young George N - born 1859 and died young E Elmer or Elmer E - born about 1862 Ada - born 1867 and died at age of 14 Namie (as listed on the census) - born 1870 Joseph H - born 1872 and is my great uncle by marriage. Who are George's or Caroline's parents? Where did any of the kids go?? No direct link to do the DNA testing -- so help!!!!! Thank you, Sandra Johnson

er June 2007 I attended a family reunion of the descendants of John Buchanan (Buck) Reeves. I contacted Terry Reeves of NC and he provided a FTDNA Kit and Larry Evans Reeves a great grandson to Buck Reeves was tested and a 25 marker test placed him at 24 of 25 matches with Terry Reeves and I. Due to this close match we assumed Buck Reeves was the descendant of Jesse Reeves a brother to our gg grandfather. I tracked down Henry Clay Reeves (brother of Buck Reeves) and found he was buried at the Spring Hill Cemetery in TX and his funeral services were managed by a funeral home in Dangerfield TX. Texas Vitals sent me a death certificate indicating I was in error as assuming Jesse Reeves to be his/their (Henry Clay and Buck Reeves) father. The death cert indicated Tom Reeves and Amanda Parlee Davis were the parents. I know Parlee was born in TN about 1810 and was in her 39 before the first child was born. Tom Reeves was missing on the 1860 census from Henderson County TN and Parlee was the Head of Household. Four of the 5 boys showed-up in Independence County AR in the 1880 census. I think Tom was much older than Parlee and possibly had a family prior to the Parlee Davis bunch. I feel Tom may have been with the Charlotte group or maybe came to the area as a follower of the Robertson Expo. I am transcribing the letters I referred to a day ago and will copy and paste the transcribed letters into a message to the Reeves List. Thank you all for the good info and thank you Tommie for the schedule you sent. I know a Drury Reeves was born in Henderson County about 1782. Thanks for the response, Billy Reeves
ok, after you sign into facebook, on the left upper side of the facebook page there is a list of options, photos, groups, events...ect...just click on groups, and then in the search bar type in Reeves Registry. Once its located, choose the option to add the group. Then on the right side of the page, there is an option to ask Barry to add you to the group.
