I am researching Archibald Reaves of Hillsborough, NC. He married Elizabeth Caldwell in 1809 in Orange Co. Appears he bought a town lot in 1801; sold it around 1813 and moved to Bedford Co., TN. This is where we have stalled. We have John D Reeves Revolutionary War Pension Application but it doesn’t give any parental info. I have found a George Reeves married to a Miss Durden. I know this George Reeves had a son named Richard R Reeves and Thomas Reeves (could have been John D Reeves’ brothers) and a Richard R Reeves was a bondsman on Richard E Reeves marriage license in Kingston, Roane County TN on Jan 25, 1824. Richard R Reeves was in Kingston, Roane County, Tennessee prior to Richard E Reeves’ arrival and must have reached the age of 50 yrs or purchased land because the poll tax ceased in 1822. I found my gg grandfather Richard E Reeves in three different locations in Roane County TN from poll tax records. The George Reeves I suspect as being my 4th great grandfather was involved in a land deal in Surry and Isle of Wright VA. He was also a Capt of a company of Colonial War Era Minutemen. I have ordered some records on his son Richard R Reeves and will, hopefully, get through a side door with that info. Any leads anyone may be able to provide will be appreciated.

My great great grandfather, Rufus Marion Griffin, born 4/15/1844 in Cherokee Co., NC, died 6/8/1936 in National City, San Diego Co., CA. My great great great grandfather, Archibald T. Reeves, born ca. 1816 in Gwinnet Co., GA, died--date unknown--is buried in Liberty Grove Church Cemetery, Randolph Co., Alabama. My great great great grandmother, b. ca 1819--place unknown, d. date and place unknow, but believed to be in Randolph Co., Alabama. There is other information on the internet that traces Archibald T. Reeves back quite a bit further, but I have only documented back to Archibald T. Reeves. Unfortunately I am very short on living male Reeve's. My grandfather and uncle have both passed away. I have a cousin I could ask, but I don't know him very well so I don't know how receptive he would be. What does it cost? And how does it work? Does it take much effort on his part?
