She shows no female children for John D. Reavis. His son John Jr b married a Matilda LNU. This John D possibly had a will he remained in the Iredell Surry area. You could go through the court records they are on film. Sharon

There is a John D Reavis in the Reavis Family book by Barbara Lucas . He was married in Surry County. He is in land and marriage records. She states he is the son of Jesse Reavis b 1750-18412- Married to Sally Locke Elwell and had a son Micajah Reavis b 1790-1850 who married an Elizabeth Early.Second marriage to Eleanor Howard had a son John Reavis Jr. 1787. I have been looking at this family in the Surry Iredell area because of an Edmond Reeves who I believe is Edmond Reavis who had a son by the name of John. I have traced John back to Iredell from Sumner Co. Tenn in court records. in 1801. It is a great possiblility that Reeves and Reavis have been mixed together. I have found no real spellings of Reeves until we get in to the middle to later 1800's in court and land records in this area of North Carolina. Trying to unravel these people is difficult when another family reseacher claims their records. Sharon

Did someone ask about John D. Reeves? There was a John Dourdan Reeves b 1759 d 1840 and m about 1789 1st Sally Locke Elwell b 1770 d before 1810 2nd Eleanor Howard m June 8, 1811 no children. This is the only I know about at the present. Beulah

Listers, From time to time I run across a reference to a John Deardon Reeves with the approximate birth date Beulah mentioned. This man is usually indicated to be a son of William of Granville Co. and it always interests me because I am really looking to find a John Reeves b. ca. 1750 that could be important to me. I have never heard justification and documentation regarding John Deardon Reeves. I do not know where the mention of him began. If anyone knows any documentation on him or the one Beulah mentioned I would very much like to hear your feedback. Tommie
