    1. Re: [REED] Reeds of Early Cumberland County (James)? Agnes E Reed
    2. I only have a story that my Grandma Reed born 1889 came from England via Canada to US. Supposedly she married a Jacque B. StJohn or Johns..He was killed in the war. She and son John StJohn (born 1914) Left England to come see a relative. When she arrived (Ohio) her letter announcing her arrival was still in the mailbox; this Mr. Reed had passed away. I think this Mr. Reed was in the Oil Profession of some sort and possibly during the visit she met Howard C Koons. But I have not found any Howard C Koons..I think she just named that on my mom's birth Certificate in 1925. In 9123 My mom's sister was born and her birth certificate lists Johns as the father and She states she's from Louisiana. Howard C was from Pennsylvania also oil Procurement or Profession...He traveled alot...My mom was born Ava, Illinois in 1925 and her sister born Effingham, Illinois in 1923..My mom said she didn't have a sister only a half brother..I never met a single soul in my mom's family and my mom was very private about her family. I've since found my mother's sister's daughter (my cousin) and she and I write all the time and share photos of our moms. They truly look like identical twins. Neither she nor I have any pictures of our grandma or grandpa or even of our mothers when they were little. Even stranger, my mom's sister was babtized under a different name in 1937 in billings, Montana and Grandma always has different names. Agnes Gertrude Reed, Agnes E Johns, Agnes E Koons. My mom said her father called her Aggie, Gwen, and other names. Mom didn't tell me her true maiden name until she passed away when I ordered her birth certificate; it was then that I found Koons as her father. She always said her maiden name was Milland. Supposedly she married in Arizona but have not proven that. John StJohn, Mom's half brother (Agnes' son) was living also in Billings, Montana in 1937. agnes passed away in Billings, Montana in 1941. John worked at Stroups or Shroups hardware for many years and married a Geraldine (Jerry). I have yet to see a picture of either of them. Supposedly Agnes was disowned from the family after having met H. C. Koons perhaps this is true as he was German and the war of England and all..Also Twins do run in the family..There was a story that Agnes had a set of twins before 1914 and they died...I don't know if this is true or not..Howard C. Koons or possible H. C. Reed or even H. C Johns died after 1925 but before 1941. My mom always said her father ran away with the housekeeper..Please if you think of anything please write to me too. Thanks for writing..good luck to y ou..Debbie

    2. I'm not really searching for Reeds for my friend any longer but here's something you might try. Just type in your browser bar Reed, Koons family photos and see what you come up with. I did that looking for McCollum and came up with an old family picture. Good luck. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 01, 2003 9:26 PM Subject: Re: [REED] Reeds of Early Cumberland County (James)?
