Hello Reed Cousins, I am looking for any of you that descend from John Reed and Sarah Kiser. John Reed had a gold mine in NC, it was call the "Reed Gold Mine" Looking for info on his father and father's wife. John was born "Johannes Reid" in Germany in 14 Apr 1759. To Anna Elizabeth Ried and Johannes Jakob Helmerich. They were not married and never married, John was listed a illegitimate. Came to America during the Rev War and fought under the Hessin Army (against the American). Were he desereted and settled in Cabarrus CO NC. I have more info on him just looking for father's family.
