When she was 17 or 18 she was sent to a school for the blind to learn Braille. She left Harrisburg, CO to live with her cousin Matilda Butterfield, after her Mother's death. She later married and was know to communicate with her sister Myrtle (Wilson) Neill through letters typed in Braille.
