Dear Bunny, In my parents house, I just found an old New Testament that has handwritten in the inside back cover and fly leaf "Lydia Ann Reed born June 16, 1847 near Zanesville Ohio came to Iowa in a covered wagon, when a little girl not quite 6 yrs of age, with her parents, John and Eliza Reed who settled on a farm about 9 miles south of Mt. Pleasant IA." That is all it says about Lydia Ann Reed or her family prior to her marriage in 1866 to James Alvin Shepherd in New London, IA. I doubt if Lydia Ann Reed was an only child but I have no further information about any siblings. Lydia Ann Reed was my great grandmother. Does this mean anything to anyone or tie into anyone else's "Reed's"? Anyone with any further information or any further guidance on research please contact me on or off list as appropriate.
