Can anyone tell me about David Reed who was in the Revolutionary War? Was he a hero? I'm looking for the name of his wife and his children. Can anyone help? Jan
In the papers in the Mass State House it mentions three Abington Companies as being part of the 2nd Plymouth County Regiment in 1762.Officers listed include the following: South Company= Lieutenant Ebernezer Reed ,listed as father of Captain David Reed , Active as Enlistment Officer on the home front.Ebernezer later promoted to Ensign. Source " Abington and the Revolution" published by the Bicentennial Committee, Abington, Mass.
