I believe I have disputed a previous theory, my Nathan REED b 1815, may have been the third brother of Harrison and Sanford REED-- The 1840 Census, Montgomery Co.,Ohio shows a Nathan REED and Sanford REED, age 20-30, who are probably brothers. But, my Nathan REED (age26) is actually on the 1840 census for Adams, Musingham Co., OH, where he married Harriet BARCLAY in 1835 and lived until 1853 ! (then migrated to Cicero, Tipton Co., IN) And now, I am still searching for the ancestors of my Nathan S. REED, -b abt 1814 VA, d aft 1880 probably Rice Co., Morristown, MN spouse-Harriet BARCLAY -b abt 1815 OH (Mother is probably Nancy BARCLAY--shown with family on 1850 census) Children-- Melinda REED b abt 1836, m. Mahlon BAILEY (brother of Eli Anderson Bailey) Amanda REED, b abt 1829, m. Eli Anderson BAILEY (brother of Mahlon Bailey) Mary E. REED, b abt 1840, m. Hi - Our Nathans are not one in the same though possibly somehow related. My Nathan was born in NY before 1815 (possibly 1812), then his brother Harrison was born in VA in July 5, 1815, then another brother Sanford was born in KY. After that the family moved to Ohio where there were probably more children born, but I cannot find them in a census to know. The Cordell family also moved to Ohio from VA. Two Cordell daughters married Harrison and Sanford. I'd like to know who, if any, were siblings of Harrison - and who were his parents. Harrison's and Sanford's families (any others???) moved to Littleton, Schuyler Co., IL, in 1845. They are in the Oregon TWP, Schuyler Co. IL, census for 1850. The 2 families (more ??) moved next to Franklin Co., KS, in 1865. He was a deacon in the Baptist church and instrumental in founding the Greenwood Baptist Church. I took photos of many of their grave stones in the cemetery behind the church last year. Let me know if you can shed any light.
