Barbara: I have a Rebecca Reed born abt 1811 in Vermont - my g g grandmother. I have her married to Russell Carpenter and living in Hermon, St. Lawrence County, NY when my g grandfather was born in 1829. Because of a census I also have reason to believe that there was an Elizabeth - not a child - sibling, aunt, ? - living with the family at one time? Rebecca and Russell are both among my more serious roadblocks.
