Hi, Each time I read a message on the Reed mailing list, or one of those from Pennsylvania, I wonder just how there could have been so many Reeds early on in Pennsylvania!! My ancestor, Adonijah Reed, was born in Fayette County, PA, in 1794. This is not a documented fact, but believe his parents were James and Elizabeth Reed. It isn't as though there was a scarcity of James Reeds or Elizabeth Reeds, either! Adonijah Reed married Elizabeth Newhouse and they had 8 children. Info shows that several of them died fairly young, their son, David, died in Andersonville during the Civil War. I next find Adonijah and Elizabeth in Delaware County, Ohio. I would very much like to establish the parents of Adonijah, and there is a wealth of info on the Newhouse line, but nothing about the parents of Adonijah. Help, or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Doris Reed Forsyth
