Thanks, Barbara, My Jesse Reid (b.1803 Wake Co.,NC) was the son of John Clement Reid (his family was from Charlotte, Lunenburg, and Brunswick Counties VA originally). Jesse had brothers named Nathan Reid and Green Reid--Green went west to work on the stage coaches, it is said. I have never been able to find anything on Green Reid. The rest of my family stayed in NC. I don't know where JohnClement Reid went, nor when he died. The family Bible is silent. I have often wondered if JOhn Clement Reid was in the Amer. Revolution and got a land grant to go somewhere else, but don't know where. I don't know where they first settled in the U.S. before going to TN. I noticed in other postings there was a Robert Reed in Rutherford Co TN on a Land Transfer. There are so many named John Reed that maybe if your John Reed is not related, it's one to eliminate, which helps sometimes. Trying to locate where the MO Reeds came from.
