Patricia, you may have something here. I have a family of James Reed, who had sons James, William and others in Pennsylvania before the Rev. War and I have not been able to find his parents. Maybe these are some of the Scot Irish Reids/Reeds who went to NC. I have found my line's name spelled both ways.
