I can search thru a licensed private investigator; however, I have to pay but it's really reasonable..Is it in the last 10 years? Please email me _Andrade1225@aol.com_ (mailto:Andrade1225@aol.com) - p.s. I have reunited lots of people lately..If you want you can first check the SSDI before you search to make sure she's alive..Thanks, Debbie
Hello list folks: I've inherited letters written by administrative personnel at Pennhurst Mental Hospital along with letters written by my 1st cousin who resided there; all addressed to her brother, who is now deceased. From the young woman's letters she had been there 14 plus years. She was discharged just prior to the class action lawsuit and the closing of the institution. From what I know, (her mother having been an alcoholic, and the elementary level of communication by this young woman), she was one of the classified "low functioning," and perhaps had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. I can't detect in her communication that she was mentally retarded. Well, having said all of this, my query is, does anyone have any suggestions on where I start to gather information on this woman who would be 45 plus years old now. I've perused googled sites for Pennhurst and while there is a lot of information to be had on the institution, there's zip on the subject of obtaining any records/information on patients that resided there. I Don't know if Dolores is still alive but I would like to locate her if she is. Does anyone reading this post have family that was at Pennhurst? I would like to communicate with you if you're so inclined. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks, Ellen
Ceci I have Reed in Guilford and Rowan same time frame. I have two lines both have John, Robert, and William. My father's name was Robert Leonard Reed born 1906 TN. His father was William Sidney Reed > James Carrol Reed > father John Reed born NC aroudn 1785. My mother's Reeds were John Reed married Margaret Carson Guilford Co. son Robert Reed married Elizabeth Myers, son Levi Reed married Mary Watson. Anything sound familiar. Patricia
Here is some more information about the Henry Reed d. 1789 family in Guilford Co, NC. At least I am assuming it is all the same family. Between 1806 and 1809 there are Guilford Co. NC deeds where William Reed, Henry Reed, Robert Reed and John D. Reed (it says John D. Reed) sell land, all is described as "adjoining Henry Reed's land". Robert Reed's deed says "Robert Reed of Rutherford County, Tennessee (TN), part of land originally owned by Henry Reed, beginning at John, James and Henry Reed's lots." When I went to the NC state archives many years ago to do research, I wish I had been better at recording ALL the information. I think William Reed and Robert Reed in the deeds are older children, who were grown when Henry died in 1789, or at least not minors, but they could be brothers I guess. Any help appreciated. Cecy Rice
I'm very interested to read about these Reed's however, too confusing as they all have the same info..My mother use to pretend and talk with the accent of Ireland; however, she said her mother was from England..Her mother Agnes born 1889..Thanks, debbie

My great grandmother was Polly Ann REED, born in TN in 1832. Her parents were Thomas and Nelly REED. Does anyone happen to know Nelly Reed's maiden name?? Thanks in advance.
I'm researching the Reed family that lived in Shulyer Co., IL, in and around 1852. My direct line later moved to KS. The 3 brothers that I know of were born in NY, VA, and KY. I think the family lived in Ohio before IL. I'd like to know about parents and other siblings.
