No there wasn't any Rosees or Patsey's on the records. I believe there is 13 or 14 children and he had been married 2 times. I never found a divorce not did I find a stone for the 1st. ones burial, but did find the second one, (Fanny) by Jeremiah's but they were not completely side by side. No one was buried between them but his sets up about 2 or 3 ft. above hers and the row by hers. He may be buried next to his first wife but that is only a guess as no stone is next to his. Fanny's stone says: Wife of Jeremiah Reed and that is how we knew it was hers. They had several children together after they married. The first wife and he had 3 or 4 I believe and he and Fanny had the rest together. lw
I don't believe our Reed family are connected. THey may be connected but now bro's or from the same Reed family. With so many being named the same name in each family it throws us for a curve until we find out. I found my Reed's in the Bible Records in the Nashville Tn Archives several years ago, and all the names were mentioned. It seems the families were using the same names on many families.
Emma, James middle name or initial is B. and we do not know what the B. stands for. His parents are Jeremiah and Frances (Fanny) Hafley Reed if that helps. I will try to go out and send the Bible records to you sometime today. wrak

Sorry for the intrusion as I am not familiar with the older parts of some of the states and counties. I do know many of them changed and it seemed Tn was also. Good luck on your research. wrak
Lou, This James Reed may be connected to me. I would like to have his date of birth, please. Also, do you know his middle name or initial? How about descendants? Were there any Rosee' (or other spelling) on that Bible list? Any help is appreciated, as my James Reed is a brick wall. Thanks, Emma Jean Reed McGill emmajean@omniglobal.net
Pat, Jeremiah and Fanny Hafley Reed had a son, (he may have been one of the twins) named James. You can find the records of them in the Bible Records in the Nashville Archives in Nashville, Tn. If I had my records in here I would email the copy I printed to you. The Reed Bible was in the hands of a Spiegel lady in Athens Tn at the time when it was copied for the archives. I wrote the lady at the address and got it back in the same envelope with a note on the bottom of the letter I wrote saying she had passed away in 1954. I couldn't understand it either, since it was written on the same letter I wrote, and had been opened, read, written on, resealed and sent back to me with no more postage on it. I don't know how they opened it without it being noticed but they did. This James Reed was born in McMinn County, Tennessee. If you think it is the same one let me know and I will go check his birth date tor you. Lou
Blount Co., Tn. is in the Eastern part of the State, Therefore I do not belive that it ever was part of Alabama. I am also a Reed with Ancestors fron Tn. robert9624@comcast.net -- MAY GOD BLESS > Content-Type: text/plain > > REED-D Digest Volume 05 : Issue 106 > > Today's Topics: > #1 Blount County TN and Alabama [Pat Bajwa <kittyink@mhtc.net>] > #2 Re: [REED] Blount County TN and Al [Wrakj1234@aol.com] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from REED-D, send a message to > > REED-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text. I found a James Reed in 1850 Lawrence Alabama and he was 54 at the time. His birthplace was listed as TN. No one was enumerated with him. This James Reed seems to fit my criteria. The James and Polly Reed that I asked about earlier was the son of Samuel. When I tried to go to 1840 in the census nothing seemed to fit or make any sense. Pat
Robert where are your Reed from? P.Pittman
Which Reed family are you referring to,? Would Cornelius Reed be the father of the Reed?
Does anyone out there know if Blount TN was later a part of Alabama? I believe I may be connected to James Reid/Reed and Polly B Thompson. He was born in 1798 and she was born in 1802. They married either in Aug or May 1823 or 1824. I found 2 dates on them. I have no idea where they died. Thanks, Pat.
