Some Cordells also moved to IL then KS and are buried in the same cemetery. Harrison's wife was Eliza Cordell and Sanford's wife was Mary Cordell. The family has no knowledge of Nathan's wife or children, but I'd love to know the truth. My Reeds were in the Washington Co Area. My grgrgrandfather, Hgh Reed, was born in Scotland. He had a brother David. This is in the 1850 census, could be wrong year. His daughter Margaret was my grgrandmother. She had a brother named James, both born in Ohio. That's all I have. Alicia

Hi - Our Nathans are not one in the same though possibly somehow related. My Nathan was born in NY before 1815 (possibly 1812), then his brother Harrison was born in VA in July 5, 1815, then another brother Sanford was born in KY. After that the family moved to Ohio where there were probably more children born, but I cannot find them in a census to know. The Cordell family also moved to Ohio from VA. Two Cordell daughters married Harrison and Sanford. I'd like to know who, if any, were siblings of Harrison - and who were his parents. Harrison's and Sanford's families (any others???) moved to Littleton, Schuyler Co., IL, in 1845. They are in the Oregon TWP, Schuyler Co. IL, census for 1850. The 2 families (more ??) moved next to Franklin Co., KS, in 1865. He was a deacon in the Baptist church and instrumental in founding the Greenwood Baptist Church. I took photos of many of their grave stones in the cemetery behind the church last year. Let me know if you can shed any light. I follow the REEDS in Maine starting with Andrew REED, b. 1693 m. Jean MURRAY. Andrew and Jean had a son William REED, b. 22 August 1730 in Northern Ireland. He emigrated to Maine with his parents and siblings. I show him m. to Jane unknown maiden name. It appears that William may have moved to Topsham, Maine and was in the Revolutionary War, but I have no information that the Topsham, Maine William REED was the same as William the son of Andrew and Jean. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Miss Ida D. REED which was taken at the Smith Studio in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The photograph was likely taken in the 1880's with Ida noted as 18 years old at the time. I'm hoping to locate someone from this REED Family so that this wonderful old family photograph can be returned to the care of family.
