    1. Reeds, Monroe Co, Ohio...1830
    2. Sandra Ferguson
    3. I'm looking for any information on both a John & an Edward REED, listed in the 1830 Monroe County, Green Twp, Ohio census. The both have girl children under 5 and I am searching for the parents of my great-great grandmother, Araminta Reed, who was born in 1827. I believe them to have been from around the Hannibal (first known as Baresville), Monroe co area, as Araminta was taken there to be buried, after dying elsewhere....I can't imagine why her husband (from Jefferson co) would have done this, had she not have been from there and, perhaps, had parents and family still there. She also chose to have a baby buried there, a few years before her own death. Sandra

    2. barb brown
    3. I have tried everything I know to find my ggrandfather and mother with no avail.Maybe there is some one out there that has heard stories from their grandma who was originally a Reed. The thing I find that is most remembered about a persons family is what things they are important for, the bad stuiff they did, or like my father dying young for no reason. Staff Sgt. Robert Richard Reed was at Shepards Air Force Technical Training Center in Jan. 1962. A few miles from Wichata Falls Tx. he was found killed by person or persons unknown. They have never solved the crime. I am hoping that someone researching the Reeds of MO. may have a cousin, 2nd cousin ect. that has heard about this and will contact me. I have nothing of my father but a picture and some documents as I was only nine when he died. But I would like to leave my kids with more then I had because my Mom and Dad were divorced when he died. I would like to leave them with who and where he came from. He was born in Nevada Mo. 1928 to Willard and Freda Nance Reed. I have nothing on Willards family except his mother was Mary Ellenand he was one of nine children.Winnie and Willard were the only boys the rest were girls. Only names were Nellie, Nettie, and Susie (Susan) married a Comstock. Had two boys one was William the same age as my father Robert. Casn anyone help me tell myself anade nothing on Willards family except his mother was Mary Ellen, possiably Jewish. Roberts family left Mo and moved to Butte Mt. where he met and married my mom. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. I am still searching for any info about my grandfather Willards parentage. He was born in Cabool Mo. in 1908, fathers name unknown, mother Mary Ellen ?. She may have been Jewish. Willard was the youngest of nine children. His brother was Winnie was the oldest he could have been born in 1887 and died in 1978 and is buried in Nevada Mo. His wife she was Martha born 1888 and died 1976. The other seven were all girls and the only info I have is one was Nettie, one was Nellie and one was Susie or Susan. Susie married a Comstock and had two boys. On name unknown but the other was William. Susie in 1965 or so after she was seperated from her husband went to Butte, Montana to visit my grandparents Willard and Freda Nance Reed, While there she died. Hope some of this rings a bell with someone. Thanks Barb. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 2. Kerrie Koch
    3. Hello, I am hoping someone will have some information on Charles Reed b 1774 Devon. He married twice. His first wife we do not know the name of but she had 3 children to him. His second wife was Elizabeth Sadler from Oxfordshire, with whom he also had three children. His parents owned a bookstore in Bristol when he was young so they must have moved from Devon to Bristol fairly early in his life. Later in life he owned a Wine and spirit merchants business. Thanks Kerrie Koch

War Updates 5/25 Message-ID: <[email protected]> It's me again <grin> I have added 6 files to the site dealing with the Revolutionary War in the Southern Department. They are: -Proclamation by Lord Cornwallis after "...compleat victory obtained over the Rebel forces..." at Guilford Court House. This proclamation is the one referred to by Greene in his letter to the President of Congress dated 3/30 as "rediculous [sic]" -Greene's report on the Battle of Hobkirk's Hill outside Camden, SC -A letter from Robert Stark regarding his treatment by the British while a POW -A Proclamation by Greene promising retribution for any further acts of violence against American prisoners. -Greene's report on the Battle of Eutaw Springs Note: I ran out of time at the Archives yesterday so I had to photocopy the last 5 pages, thus some areas that were too light to make out on the copies are indicated with [?] in the transcript. I should be able to get there this week and get that totally proofed. -List of killed & wounded officers at Eutaw Springs The site URL is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~familyinformation/ Click on the Link, Revolutionary War Reports & Letters of the Southern Department. The NEW files are so indicated. Paul Sarret has put together a good web site on this period in American history which can be found at: http://members.aol.com/esarrett/sc/arw_0idx.htm Enjoy your Memorial Day Week-end, but don't forget those who sacrificed in order that we may enjoy our Liberty! Billy P.S. As usual, feel free to forward this to anyone you feel who would be interested. ==== ROWANROOTS Mailing List ==== RowanRoots is a genealogy/history discussion list. Please stay on topic.
