    3. My husband's grandfather, Floyd Alvin Reed was born in Iowa, married(?) to Olive Berg. His father was William P. Reed born in PA. This is all I know about them except that on the census he shows his parents also born in PA. Could there be a connection? I'm sorry I can't be of any help otherwise. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Webb Pierce" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 23, 2003 6:51 AM Subject: [REED] Lee County Iowa Reed's > I am particularly interested in the Reed family that lived in Montrose, Iowa (Lee County), which originated in New York. 3. NSDAR VOLUNTEERS OFFER LOOKUPS. Do you think you might have an ancestor who served in the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783)? Would you like to know whether your ancestor is listed with the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) in its "Patriot Index"? A helpful group of NSDAR Volunteer "Genies" monitor the RootsWeb DAR Message Board every day and welcome lookup requests. Include your Revolutionary War-era ancestor's first and last name, spouse's name (if known), dates of birth, death, and state of residence when posting your lookup request. You need not be interested in joining the NSDAR to request a lookup. After you click on this URL, you will go to a web page. Then whoose topics, then choose organizations, one of which is the DAR page. http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p= topics.organizations.dar Betty Pace
