There were 7 children, 3 deceased. survivors were Thomas, Charles, >>Lawrence, Martha Pumphrey and a sister Matilda Burton of Nashville (Washington Co., IL) >>They did not marry in Fayette Co. >>Hope this helps. >>Linda This matches my records: The children of William C. SMITH-6, (Delilah-5, Isham and Mary-4, Henry and Harris-3, Thomas-2) and Jennie LOWRY (LOWERY) were: 1. Andrew Jackson SMITH, Aug. 14, 1873-1892. (died unmarried) 2. Thomas Logan SMITH, Mar. 30, 1875-1916. (married Cora Gilliland July 4, 1900) 3. Flora Alice SMITH, Aug. 24, 1877-1894. (died unmarried) 4. Charles Gilbert SMITH, Oct. 11, 1879-Aug. 6, 1942. (married Stella Mariah Strong Sept. 21, 1905 these were my grandparents) 5. Mary Delilah SMITH, July 28, 1881-1904. (died unmarried) 6. Martha Almira SMITH, Mar. 11, 1885- Mar. 3, 1975. (married Will Pumphrey on Mar. 28, 1911) 7. Lawrence Aubrey SMITH, Nov. 24, 1888-1939. (married ??? no children) Still trying to find out where they were married. Maybe Clinton Co. Illinois, since that is the birth place listed for Thomas Logan Smith on his marriage record to Cora Gilliland. The Illinois Marriage Index does not contain the data for marriages in Clinton County from 1850 to 1875. Will keep digging. Jennie's parents were Thomas and Mary Jamieson LOWRY (LOWERY) (from Ireland). They had four children: Eliza, Jennie, Matilda and Andrew. Cheers, Glenda
