Reavis, a physician at Richland City, is a native of Gibson County, Ins. and was born September 7, 1853, and is the eldest of his parents' six children. The father and mother were James R. (Riley) and Margaret J. (Chambers) Reavis. William J. received a common school education at home and at the age of eighteen years entered Fort Branch College, where he remained two years. After this he taught school for six years, and in 1876 began reading medicine in the office of Drs. Scales and Tyner, at Boonville. During the term of 1877-1878 he attended the Ohio Medical College, at Cincinnati. After that he located in the practice at Richland City, where he yet resides, and has a large practice. He was united in matrimony to Florence G. Allen, April 6, 1879. She is a native of Ohio. The doctor is a Republican and member of I.O.O.F." *Barb
