Barb, you state we need to document Fanny's full name: First, In "Revis in Madison County" found at the Pack Library, Hayward Street, Asheville, NC; Chapter 1, page 4; states "William Revis (1814 -? married Fanny Shepherd". At the Buncombe County, NC Register of Deeds office there is a deed dated 1/13/1880 stating, "William N. Revis and wife, F.H. Revis." This deed was witnessed by Thomas Revis. Therefore, I assume, and I know I shouldn't, that Fanny's name was Frances (Fanny) Angeline or Angeline Frances Shepherd. I, too, have not located any census of the Shepherd family with her name on it. But, unfortunately when I was in Buncbome County I did not look up the Shepherds. Perhaps sometime in the distant future we will return to Buncombe and do more research.
