Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Cemetery was the official name of the place. The land on which the cemetery was founded, was given by my great great grandfather, Judge Robert Simpson and William Smithey. Robert Simpson's oldest son, John Simpson was the first person buried in the cemetery. This was about 1828 or so, I don't have my papers handy. The cemetery today, probably is called the Pioneer Cemetery, because all of the people buried there were pioneers, who came to Missouri. I have the complete list of all the people buried in the cemetery and it reads like the who' s who of pioneer settlers. Several generations of my family are buried there.
