I have re-examined the Bastard Bond executed by supposedly Elizabeth Reavis and Austin Harris, which I found in NC State Archieves and submitted to list previously. Barb has a copy posted on her site. I have been bothered that I can not find record of the child anywhere. I have found one reference to a "Austin Harris" in a court reference in Granville County. Elizabeth later married and had a large family. I now believe a "recount" is in order, and an apology is due to our beloved ancestor Elizabeth Reavis. Upon examining the bond more closely, I believe the name of the individual on the bond is Elizabeth Reames, not Reavis. Let's recount. David Reavis
