I just wrote: >There's more than one Henry Hendricks in this area, but I suspect that >this one is the one who married Isabella LUCKEY in 1795 and was deceased >by 1838, when his estate was settled. Jonathan CRANFILL), and George (living in Iredell >Co. by 1839). I should clarify this: Mary Ann Hendricks, and the other children named above, are named in the estate settlement of a Henry Hendricks in 1838, Davie County. I am reasonably confident about the identity of these children and their spouses. What I don't know for sure is that this is the same Henry who married Isabella Luckey in 1795, or how he connects to the rest of the Rowan/Davie Hendricks family. What we do know is that there were two men named Henry Hendricks who came to Rowan County from Pennsylvania in the early 18th century. They were first cousins, and Hendricks family researchers know them as "North Henry" and "South Henry", based on the locations of their respective lands back in Lancaster Co. PA. David Hendricks (1724-1788) was the son of "North Henry", and is the supposed father of the Henry who married Isabella Luckey. (Contrary to some published accounts, his wife was *not* Margaret Pillsbury.) David's brother James Hendricks is my ancestor. Confused yet? If you like REAVIS, you'll love HENDRICKS research!
