Barb, I hope this helps .On the 1860 Buncombe Co. census, the Flat Creek area, Thomas and Elizabeth Revis are listed living two houses down from George and Candacia Revis and before them is a Henry and Rebecca Shepherd.This is how the census is listed. 76-Henry Shepherd-33 Rebecca-31 77-George Revis-45 Candacia -42 78-William Garrison-25 R. Eliza -21 79-Thomas Revis-27 Elizabeth A 32 Laura 3 Alice R 3/12 Barb, I don't know if this helps. I thought this Thomas might be George's son because he is living only couple doors down from him.
