After much research we have come up with the following data. Mary Pritchard Reavis b1777-1783 married 1804 Wake Co NC Jesse Brassfield bca1774-1776 (this is now a fairly definitive date he prob married a Rachel Smith 1797 in Wake Co..if 21 places his birthdate at ca1776 (a book written in 1959 gave his birthyr as prior to 1778). He had two daughters when he married Mary, Elizabeth 1801 and Nancy 1803 (both married Laffoons) Chn of Mary Pritchard Reavis and Jesse Brassfield were: Jonathon b1805 m/Gordon Michael b1810 m/Freeman William bca1812 m/Fawcett Andrew 1817 James 1821 Carolina b1823 m/Frye Jesse and Mary were in Surry Co by 1810 census. He died there in 1826. She then went to Monroe Co Indiana, earliest land record there was 1837, meaning she had to have been there 2-5 yrs prior, for the land to be proved and title given (not sure about the time limit) She is on the 1840 Monroe Co Ind census in the household of her son Andrew, listed as Mrs. Polly Reavis age 50-60(making her b yr 1780-90) All of this was brought about by trying to idenitfy Abigail REAVIS who married Charles Combs 1819 in Surry Co NC; and the Brasfield family had incld her as d/o Jesse and Mary. Now who was Abigail? Hard to tell. Could be illeg d/o Mary, except that her birth is given as 1806..Mary was married by then; so remains to identify Abigail's parents. *Barb
