According to the stories from my Grandfather, Homer Lewis Revis, his father (Milton Louis) was sent to live with his maternal uncle, Benjamin Shephard, after the marriage to the second wife. She did not want anything to do with him and his siblings. Milton lived with Benjamin until his Grandmother grew ill, and then he moved in with them to help tend her. Those with access to census data might want to check out any Shephard families for the whereabouts of Catherine and William. Milton was 13 when he went to live with his Grandparents.
