    1. [REAVIS] Thomas H Revis s/o Wm N Revis and Fanny Shepherd
    2. Well got a lead on his first marriage. Thomas Henry Revis was married to a Mary Shephard, and when she died they had three chn William b 1863, Catherine b1865, and Louis Milton b1867. TH then married Mary Ann Hookes and had 6 more chn, Leonidus, James, Harrison, Kenneth, Arry and Minney. Pays to ck old correspondence once and awhile, came in before we had made the connection. Louis Milton was born March 7 1867 died Nov 27 1911, and married Daisy Eleanor Gallienne (she was half french and half indian). They had at least one son Homer Lewis Revis b1913 Louis was raised by his Uncle Benjamin Shephard , for the majority of his childhood. So we are one step closer to completing this puzzle *Barb

    1. [REAVIS] Abigail REAVIS married Charles COMBS 1819 Surry Co NC
    2. Find them on the 1820 and 1830 Surry Co NC census, 1840 and 1850 Monroe Co Indiana, and he on the 1860 Green Co Ind census. Charles remarried 1858 Anna McLaughlin Green Co Indiana, thus Abigail died prior to 1858. Charles Will d/Feb 1866 probated Mar 1866 Green Co Ind The bondsman for their marr bond was Wiley Brasfield. A Jesse Brasfield (d ca1826Surry Co NC) married Mary Pritchard Reavis (d/o Wm-2) 1804 Wake Co NC, after her husbands death she also migrated to Monroe Co Indiana, where she died in 1840 and is buried in the Cobbs Cemetery there. They had a daughter Abigail Brasfield, as well, born ca 1806 and died May 1859 in Monroe Co Indiana, amongst other children. What is the connection of Abigail Reavis m/Combs and Mary Pritchard Reavis m/Brasfield? Cannot be her sister, because all chn of 2d marr of Wm-2 named in his will...and since Mary last child born ca1770-77.. not likely. *Barb

Am concerned about reference to Elizabeth Delilah Reavis. Wasn't this Isham's sister who married William Burgess? Thanks, Glenda

    3. Barb, the correct name for Atlas Revis' 2nd wife is Ruby Shell. The last name Wiley is Ruby's sister married name. I sent it wrong the first time, I sent you a e-mail with the correction before, must have got lost somehow. Ruby was only married one time and that was to Atlas Revis. Atlas's wife Ruby lives 2 houses down from me, here in Marion, N.C.( Just a little information I thought you might like to know, we call where I live, Revis Hollar, because there is least 5 generations of this family living side by side). 2. Chris M
    3. In browsing eBay one day, I typed "Reavis" in the search box, and one of the listed items was the above book. The book was a compilation of his life stories and growing up around Boonville, Missouri, and the last date mentioned was 1933. It seems to read well, but I have no solid clue as to who D.W. Reavis is other than a preacher -- any clues? Is this Drury Webster Reavis? Chris __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 1. [REAVIS] updated NC census data on Angelfire site
    2. http://www.angelfire.com/revisrevis/index.html Paul, find none in Rowan Co 1790..1810 David, Morgan, (s/o Jas-3), James and Mary..don't know who the James is, since both James-2 and James-3 are deceased, You also must consider those in Surry Co, many of the Reavis' lived on the border of Rowan and Surry Co ie Jesse, Joseph, James (2 & 3), Joseph and John. Members of Jesse-2, James-2, incld Morgan, and Joseph all went to Tn..Morgan and Joseph to area of Bledsoe and Cum- berland co ca 1830..rest area of Bedford/Mid Tn. These are just the ones frm the area you are looking at, Rowan/Surry co *Barb

I do not have this census data, only have the 1870 index to the NC census, and he is listed in Buncombe co pg 174 Flat Ck Twp...NOT Madison Co. We do need this data to identify people in household, same for 1880 in Buncombe Co..since it has a Rebecca and Elizabeth listed, who in the 1860 census maybe identified as Rebecca and Margaret Edwards in his household, need to know who they were! So right now we need 1870 Buncombe Co census records house- hold of William (N) Revis with wife Fanny/Angeline; 1860 Bunc census records to identify Rebecca and Margaret Edwards in household of Wm N and Angeline. 1880 Bunc census household data of Wm & Fanney, to identify Eliza and Rebecca. I found > William-45 > Angeline-44 > > On the 1870 Madison CO.,N.C. census William is with Fanney . > > But when you go the 1880 census he is with Fanney again. **This is why seeking "Full Name" of Fanny, the interpretation I have for the 1850 census is Nancy, could well be Fanny, and since he is on other census with Fanny and same chn..this likely problem with wifes' names on various census. Maybe Fanny knickname for Angeline :-) **Have you actually viewed the 1850 census? If not, Curt would you see if you can locate William N. pg 213 Buncombe Co to interpret the name of his wife? Nancy or Fanny..hope is Fanny! I believe it is the same person, since she is also named in son Wm C's will 1879! This still lvs us of course with differing birthyr for Thomas H..1832 or 1842, death rec says 1842, marr rec 1830, census rec 1850 ca1843, 1870 ca1832, and so on..need to view death cert and marr record. Don't see him as son of anyone other than William N., s/o Thomas -4 and Mary Roberts. But always possible. On the 1880 census he is lv next door to William and Fanny and a couple of his chn are in their household. Just need documentation for confirmation. *B
