We need more information. There are two George Reases that I know of; one died in Buffalo area and one died in Ontario County. I am looking for information on the George P. Rease who I believe was a "Jr.", who was born in 1925, probably in the Newark, NY area, married Elizabeth Scheerens in 1947 and died in 1998. Any connection? 3. To the members of the Rease Rootsweb Mailing list -- As the Admin person for this Rease Mailing list, I'm wondering what we can do to improve activity on this list. We had now entries in 2009, one in 2010, and one in 2011. Where has everyone gone? What is the competition out there? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Bill

I hope it helps. http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true I believe this Warden "K." Ebersole was related to the Kagarise's who were prominent in the Salemville, Bedford County, PA area as were the Jacob Eversole family. Jacob had several children by his first wife, then he married an ancestor of mine, Sarah Mock, who married David Replogle after Jacob's death. They're all buried at Salemville Cemetery. I descend from Sarah's illegitimate son, Irvin Mock Ebersole,(father George Lingenfelter), who married Nancy Reasy. They too are at the same cemetery. Looking forward to hearing back from you. 1. new DNA mailing list
    2. Ron Rice
    3. Folks, There's a new RootsWeb mailing list for those who have an interest in DNA testing (in conjunction with traditional genealogical research), and ALL of the following surnames: REACE REASE REECE REES, REESE REIS, REISS REUS, REUSS RHYS, RICE RIES, RIESS RISE ROYCE ROYS, ROYSE RYCE RYSE The mailing list is called RICE-DNA. You can subscribe by sending an email to RICE-DNA-L-request@rootsweb.com with the word "subscribe" in the body of the message. If you'd rather subscribe in digest mode, send the email to RICE-DNA-D-request@rootsweb.com. We don't mean to imply that RICE is somehow special, while the other surnames somehow play a secondary role. Actually, most of the other surnames are older than RICE and have known origins--patronymic, locative, topographical, ornamental, etc. So why refer to them as variants of RICE? There is currently a RICE DNA study underway with a significant number of participants, while none of the other surnames has a DNA project. DNA analysis can supplement our documentary knowledge about the relationships among these surnames and their earliest origins. Thus it makes sense for all of us to participate in the one DNA study. Suppose the RICE DNA project was never started, and a REESE family was the first to inititiate a DNA study. Then we would be talking about REESE "variants". In other words, there's nothing special about RICE, except that it has a well-established DNA project underway. I hope you will consider to subscribing to our new mailing list. Cheers, Ron Rice, List Administrator
