I recently joined this list and am just starting to research my RAYNER/RAYNOR heritage. Here is what I now know... Daniel SAYRE, born at Southampton, L.I., was called "Daniel Tertius" in a list of inhabitants of Southampton in 1698. He married Phebe, daughter of Isaac RAYNER. [Src: _SAYRE FAMILY: Lineage of Thomas Sayre A Founder of Southampton_, Theodore M. Banta; New York, NY, 1901, p.60] Elsewhere, Banta spelled her maiden name Phebe RAYNOR. If anyone can help with info on Phebe and her lineage, I would appreciate it so much. With kind regards, Steve swatts@woodland.net
