John Rayner came from York County, Thurston Raynor, b. ca 1593, resided in Elmsett, County of Suffolk, England, and left Ipswich, England on the ship, ELIZABETH, in April 1634 with his wife, Elizabeth, five children, and nephew, Edward Raynor. They landed in Boston in July 1634 (not 1635) and settled in Watertown, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Thurston and his family went from Watertown, MA to Wethersfield, CT, then to what is now Stamford, CT, then across Long Island Sound to Hempstead, and eventually (between 1646 and 1649), settled in Southampton, L.I.
