    3. Thurston Raynor was baptized 21 Sep 1593 in Elmsett, County of Suffolk, England. By 13 Apr 1620, he had married Elizabeth _____, who was born in 1598. Thurston, his wife, Elizabeth, and their children, Thurston, 13, Joseph, 11, Elizabeth, 9, Sarah, 7, and Lydia, 1, and Thurston's nephew, Edward, 10, immigrated to America, departing from Ipswich, England in April 1634 aboard the ship, ELIZABETH, and landing in Boston in july of that year. Thurston and his family initially lived in Watertown, Massachusetts Bay Colony, and then, in 1636, went to Wethersfield, Connecticut. Thurston and his family left Wethersfield in 1641 to found a village at Stamford, Connecticut. In 1644, Thurston and his family corssed Long Island Sound and established a colony at hempstead, long Island. Later, sometime between 1646 and 1649, Thurston and his family settled in the young village of Southampton, on eastern Long Island. There is no known relationship between Thurston Raynor, who was from Elmsett, County of Suffolk, England, and Rev. John Rayner, who was from the County of York.
