I know this is going to sound wierd and I hope one of you can enlighten me. I finally figured out on my own how to view the archives of the RAYNOR List. Obviously it has not been in existence long as there are only a few mesages listed. However, I was dismayed to find that my message of Oct. 20, was not among the list. How could this have happened? Anyway, I'm sending it again because I definitely want it among the messages in the archives so that if ANYONE just happening to do a search finds a common link with my information, we can communicate. Look forward to hearing more about our RAYNOR heritage! Nelda **************************** My grandmother is Lucile RAYNOR HILDRETH. She was born May 9, 1910, in Parkton, NC, to Major James RAYNOR and Mary Nettie DAVIS. Her parents had a thing for L's--all children have names beginning with L: Lessie Ree, Lester James, Lula Mae, Leetta, Luther Kenneth, and Lossie Eva. Major James RAYNOR (b. December 18, 1880 in Fayetteville, Cumberland, NC) was the son of Kenneth RAYNOR (b. September 01, 1860 in Fayetteville, Cumberland, NC) and Hattie Daniel CALVIN. There is some question about the correct spelling of Kenneth, I've seen it as Kennith. Other children of this union include Carthia Leesther, Luther T., Bettie J., Adonijah, Kenneth L., Lillie, J. R., and Harriet. As a child, I met Aunt Carthia at RAYNOR family reunions and remember that she played the piano well by ear. Aunt Harriet was instrumental in planning the reunions, so I remember her, but she is in a nursing home now. I think I also met Uncle Luther, but my memory is dim. My grandmother's at 89 is also dim and she cannot help me much with our RAYNOR family history. Like many things in life, I waited a little late to become interested in this when the people who could help me most are gone. Most of the information I have given here I obtained from the LDS site. Can any of you help me with generations beyond Kenneth RAYNOR? I appreciate any and all information or leads. I have another question...is there a way to see archives of the RAYNOR list messages?
