I wonder if anyone else is hunting their Raynor roots in Yorkshire, England? I have a 4ggmother, Rebecca Reyner (that was the usual spelling!), probably born in Collingham (or maybe Spofforth), YKS, UK, in about 1765. Her parents were Timothy Reyner and Anne Manners, and Timothy's father was Eleazer Rayner, a schoolteacher. As schoolteachers often have done and still do, Eleazer moved around quite a bit: Timothy was born in Ledsham, but Eleazer and his wife Rosamund (nee Wilby) had children born in several different places. All were, however, in the northern part of the old North Riding. I also have another line of Rayners to trace in Australia, but so far I haven't found out where they came from in the UK.
