My husbands g grandparents were: Jonathan Lambert RAYNER and Sarah(Sallie) E. LOCKHART RAYNER. He was b. 14 Nov, 1862, ENG He m.ca.1886, CA to Sarah E. LOCKHART She was b. 20 Nov1870, Lodi, CA They were in the Sonoma Co, CA area They moved to AZ however in ca.1912/13 to "homestead" there. He d. 16 Dec, 1932, AZ and they shipped his body back to CA and is supposedly buried in a cemetery in Vista, San Diego Co., CA. She eventually moved back to CA staying in Compton, Los Angeles Co., CA (prob with family there) and she d. 26 Apr, 1957 and is buried in same cemetery as he is. Does anyone know what the name of the cemetery is there???? Also, we were told Sara was responsible for changing their name from RAYNOR to RAYNER. Would she have done this do you think like the Irish did at one point with dropping the "MC" or the "O" due to discrimination at the time whether Irish, English, Dutch???? She was a LOCKHART and her parents were from IN and PA and wonder if they were Dutch, or what? Any ideas????
