Hello Raynor list! My ancestry is back to Tryphena RAYNOR (1790-1859) d/o Jonathan & Tryphena (Fordham) RAYNOR. She m. Joshua SECOR and they settled in Greene Co. IL. Jonathan was b. c.1743 in Morristown, NJ, it seems and d. 1822 in Greene Co. PA, was m. 1771 to Tryphena FORDHAM b. ? who d. 1828 while living with family in Mt. Vermon, OH. And the father of Jonathan was David RAYNOR who was a twin b. 1705/6 to Jonathan & Irene (HERRICK) RAYNOR. My added thanks to Stuart Howell who provided me with the information about David and his own ancestry back to Thurston RAYNOR, the original imigrant locating in Southampton, L.I. I have a copy of his book "The Raynors of Ketchaponack." In this he says that Jonathan (1681-1741) was the first white settler of this town now called Westhampton. But I didn't know there was a 1998 update and on the web...thanks! I wonder if I'm in it! (I'll check of course). A few details I need more on: The FORDHAM family, some of whom also came to NJ from NY...Joshua SECOR and Tryphena RAYNOR were m. in Morristown by her uncle, Rev. Lemuel FORDHAM. Don't have Tryphena's birthdate nor parentage, possible father was Stephen. David RAYNOR's date & place of death...and when did he move to NJ. What is Mr. Howell's source of info about him? More info about Jonathan RAYNOR the father of the aformentioned Jonathan. When exactly was he born betw. 1646-61 and where. And was his wife indeed Sarah PIERSON d/o Henry PIERSON? Enough!
