    1. [RAYNOR] Elizabeth Raynor/Thomas Southworth m. 1641
    2. SHIRLEY W HENDRIX
    3. So glad to join the Raynor list. Maybe I should have waited a few days for more folks to join, but ..... Anyway, I descend from Elizabeth Raynor and do not have any info on her except that she married Thomas Southworth on Sept. 1, 1641 in Plymouth. Their daughter, Elizabeth, married Joseph Howland. Then their daughter, Mercy, married Joseph Hamlin/Hamblin... etc.... Does anyone know the parents of Elizabeth Raynor? 1. [RAYNOR] Searching RAYNER from Eng to CA ca.1850
    2. crystalwoman
    3. Hi-Glad there is a list for this surname now, and thank you....My husband's g grandfather was Jonathan Lambert RAYNER, b.ca.1861 Eng. It is oral family history that there were 4 RAYNER bros who came by ship to US and then 2 went to Canada and 2 went to CA for gold rush. Supposedly they came around the Cape Horn to San Francico port, CA too.......ca.1850. Any data or a seemingly cousin line connecting to this would help us.... Jonathan Lambert RAYNER m.ca. 1886 in CA to Sara Emma LOCKART and they remained in the Sonoma Co area at least until I found them on the 1920 Maricopa Co., AZ census. His son and family had decided to go to AZ in 1914 not long after AZ became a state so they could homestead there, so a lot of the family left CA and settled on hundreds of acres of land they farmed in Litchfield Park, AZ. for many years, some went back to CA in mid 1950's, and yet other descendants of this line are still in Maricopa Co., AZ Happy Trails, Joan in MT Also, visit my 4 personal home pages on spirituality and genealogy: http://www.geocities.com/crystalwoman_2000/

    1. [RAYNOR] Itawamba County, MS
    2. I am looking for information on Alice P. Raynor b. 1861 She married Mason M. Walker in Itawamba County, MS in 1879. I need to find who her parents were and a list of Mason & Alice Raynor Walker's children. I know the names of three that died young. Also, I would like to find information on Willie A. Raynor who lived in the same area. The section of Itawamba County that I am looking at for these Raynor's is very close to the border of Prentiss County, so they could be from either one. If anyone has any information on Willie A. Raynor or Alice P. Raynor, please contact me. (I believe Willie to be female). Karen

    1. [RAYNOR] Raynor in Corning NY
    2. Sherry Bell
    3. Hi all, I have just joined this list tonight and wanted to introduce myself. I have been activly researching my family tree now for over a year, and am pretty familuar with these lists. I am new however to the RAYNOR list because this is not in my own family tree. All of my children however are all Raynors. I would like to do my best to see if I can atleast start the genealogy for them. Any help would be most appreciative. I am comming to you with the dreadful, " I don't know much". I have lost contact with my Mother n Law who married a "John Donald Raynor" from Corning NY. So I have to go on what I remember, which isnt much. I am crossing my fingers that there might be someone out there with a large gedcom who has this family listed, however Im afraid they are not old enough to be on anyones gedcoms :( I have John Donald Raynor b? d Corning NY abt. the late 1960's? he married a Barbara Jane Burdick from Tioga Penn.(I think). Barbara would have been born in the 30's and I know that John was alot older than she was. I also know that he died from a piece of metal that was lodged in his brain from a bullet from a war, I dont know what war. but as time went on this piece of metal traveled to his brain and killed him. Ok there is my needle in the haystack. Any help would be wonderful. I don't even know what County this is in. Sherry

    3. Dear Nelda: As soon as a message is received on the list it is already archived... ie: when Rootsweb gets it it is archived immediately. However, I believe it is once a week a "robot" goes around and logs the names into a file which is where the search engine looks for "hits" when you do a name search (I don't know what day "Mr. Robot" does this :-) Your original message was sent on October 19th, so maybe the "robot" hadn't picked it up yet. Is there anyone on the list who has any information they can share with Nelda regarding her search? 3. I know this is going to sound wierd and I hope one of you can enlighten me. I finally figured out on my own how to view the archives of the RAYNOR List. Obviously it has not been in existence long as there are only a few mesages listed. However, I was dismayed to find that my message of Oct. 20, was not among the list. How could this have happened? Look forward to hearing more about our RAYNOR heritage! Nelda **************************** My grandmother is Lucile RAYNOR HILDRETH. 1. [RAYNOR] Raynor/Raner/Rayner family of Virginia
    2. Roy & Shannon Moore
    3. I'm researching the Raner/Rainer/Rayner/Raynor family of Virginia. I would love to hear of anyone with connections to VA, especially in the 1840 and previous time frame. My personal line deadends with James Harvey Raner born 1821 in Orange Co, VA. In that area I find what I think is a family group, headed by John Rayner a Rev war veteran. I believe he had sons John, George, James, William, Thomas. The name appears connected to Gillespies and Herrons among others. There were marriages for some of this group recorded in Albemarle Co, Va. Thomas moved on to OH. Any and all information appreciated. Thanks Shannon Moore Orlando, FL mailto:mgm@gate.net

    1. [RAYNOR] Re: Ruth Raynor mystery lady
    2. Karima
    3. Dear Tom, I know there is definitely someone out there searching for your 'Mystery Lady", Ruth RAYNOR, and it will be only a matter of time before she is "claimed". Last night, when I first saw your message, I remembered, some time ago, seeing a message on a list (have no idea which one) sent by someone who was searching for an actress named Ruth RAYNOR. I remember, because at the time, I thought to myself that RAYNOR probably wasn't her real name, since having an actress in the family during that time period was not something families were pleased with. Stuart Howell wrote: > Soon, there will be a marvelous Raynor Family Association web site - > being established, and to be maintained by, Karima. YES, we would most definitely like to include a section dedicated to Ruth RAYNOR on the Raynor Family Association web site, and Tom, if you will contact me privately, we can make arrangements to do so. I will go into more detail about the Raynor Family Association web site later, but I would like to say that it is our hope that this web site will be a place where all of us RAYNORs can place and exchange information regarding our ancestors, and that all of you will contribute information about your specific family members, including photos, etc. More on that later. Many of you might not be aware that there is a Raynor Family Association. If you are interested in more information, please go to the following URL, where you can read about the association. There is also a membership form you can print out if you want to join us, and we hope that you will. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask. http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/RaynorFamilyAssociation.htm That's all for now. In the meantime, I want to thank you all for becoming a part of our "group". We can make this list work for us if we will all contribute. Also, if you know of others who are searching for RAYNORs you might suggest that they join the list. BTW, contributors to the Raynor Family Association Web Site, will be acknowledged and credited for the information they send to the site. Contributors will also maintain sole copyright on the information they provide. The space for this web site has been privately purchased and is not a "free" web site owned by geocities, etc. There will be no outside advertising on the site. But, more about that later. Have a great weekend, Karima

    1. [RAYNOR] A Raynor Mystery For You
    2. Hi All! I have a mystery for you. A thoughtful antique dealer rescued an old scrap book from a trunk he bought. It had belonged to an actress named "Ruth Raynor." The scrapbook is full of clippings from all over the country between 1902 to 1912. She performed with several different groups, and frequently had top billing. At one point her group was actually billed as the "Ruth Raynor Stock Co.," so she must have done well. Several formal portraits were taken at studios in New York, however, I have no idea where she came from, where she went, who her parents were, whether she was married, or what happened after 1912, when the scrap book abruptly ended. Any information would be appreciated. And, of course, if anyone out there is actually related to her, I'd like to share this great find with you! - Tom Raynor

I have the genealogy of Joseph Raynor (b. 10 May 1794, Manorville, d. 15 Feb 1864, Manorville) all the way through Thurston Raynor, b. England, d. Oct 1667, Southampton, NY, and on to Robert Reynere, b. ca. 1525, Wickham Market, England, d. Oct-Dec 1571, also Wickham Market. But with Ann's mother, Esther Raynor, I only have her mother and father, Joseph Raynor, Manorville, NY and Phebe Robinson, Manorville, NY. Does anyone have further information on Esther's line? No doubt she was related to her husband in some way other than by marriage!! Regards, Gary Skarka
