You have the correct line of descent from Thurston to Frances Lavinia Raynor. I'll send you the information to your email address as an attachment. I can't send attachments through the RAYNOR mail list - against the rules. Stuart -- Stuart Howell showell@ttlc.net
Hello: My husband's ggm was Frances Lavina Raynor, wife of Erastus R. Howland. Frances was born 4 Aug 1843, Long Island, NY, a daughter of Joel Raynor and his 2nd wife, Rebecca Layton. We have traced this line back to Thurston Raynor, but don't have a lot of family history, just names/some dates/places. Direct line as follows: Frances Lavina Raynor & Erastus R. Howland Joel Raynor & Rebecca Layton John Raynor & Martha Thompson Josiah Raynor & Phebe Turner Josiah Raynor & Sarah Higby Joseph Raynor & Mary Young Thurston Raynor & Elizabeth --- Any additions or corrections to above with your source(s) will be very much appreciated. Sorry, Bonnie, I don't see a connection to your Samuel Raynor family, but thank you for writing. PatriciaR = = = = = = BDavis9361@aol.com wrote: > > Hi PatriciaR> > Where are your Raynor's from? Hi PatriciaR Where are your Raynor's from? I have a Samuel Raynor b 1775 in Nottingham, England. He married Catherine Frost in 1779. After they had 1 child Elizabeth, we think he left her because she had 3 more base born children by a Thomas Roper. We think we have found him living with a Hannah, in the same area, but have been unable to really confirm any of this info. Does it sound familiar? Thanks Bonnie
My I make a suggestion to Yvonne... If you wish to copy the text of an article from a webpage and the font color, etc., will not allow it, do this - highlight the text you wish to copy. Then, press the CTRL key and c key at the same time. This will copy the highlighted text to your clipboard. Then, open your word processing program, where you can paste what you just copied. You may have to edit the text a little because usually at the beginning you'll get a little tag about the text being in HTML, but otherwise, it should be printable. There are also ways to override the font color on the webpage and get it to print, but I don't remember how to do it, and I find the way I've suggested above to be easiest for me. Hi, Karima: Yes, the buttons took me to the "cover pages" I mentioned in my first message, which only seem to contain descriptive information regarding what might be found (but isn't posted yet?). Maybe I'm too early asking such questions since you haven't gotten the data posted yet. Sorry...I'll gladly wait for the Inquiries, etc., to be posted to your lovely web pages. I was so happy to find Raynor on the www that I'm probably overly-anxious to find my hubby's ancestors and their history.<g> Thank you, PatriciaR Karima wrote: > > Dear Patricia, > > To access each section, just click on the gold button to the left. > However, I must tell you that, the web site is still in the construction > and development stage and at this point there are no queries listed. > > However, the rest of the site contains a great deal of information and I > hope you will find it interesting. > > Best wishes and if you need more assistance please contact me. > > Karima > > E.O.& P.J. wrote: > > > > Hello: > > Yesterday visited the Raynor Association web pages, and wonder > > if someone can please tell me how to access the queries, etc.? > > I read the cover pages for each item listed on the main page, > > but got no further than that - the cover pages. > > Thank you, > > PatriciaR > > > > ==== RAYNOR Mailing List ==== > > Visit the RAYNOR Family Web Site at: > > http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/Raynor.htm > > If you would like to submit information on your RAYNOR ancestors to be included on this site, > > please contact Karima at mailto:quest@springnet1.com > > > > ============================== > > Search ALL of RootsWeb's mailing lists in real time. > > RootsWeb's Personalized Mailing Lists: > > http://pml.rootsweb.com/ > > -- > Karima > mailto:quest@springnet1.com > ========================= > Designer & Maintainer of: > THE RAYNOR FAMILY WEB SITE > http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/Raynor.htm > > ==== RAYNOR Mailing List ==== > Visit the RAYNOR Family Web Site at: > http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/Raynor.htm > If you would like to submit information on your RAYNOR ancestors to be included on this site, > please contact Karima at mailto:quest@springnet1.com > > ============================== > Free Web space. Dear Patricia, To access each section, just click on the gold button to the left. However, I must tell you that, the web site is still in the construction and development stage and at this point there are no queries listed. However, the rest of the site contains a great deal of information and I hope you will find it interesting. Best wishes and if you need more assistance please contact me. Dear Yvonne, I am very sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am happy that you enjoyed the Freeport Articles on the Raynor Family Web Site. I am sorry that you weren't able to print them out. Using the font color was on an aesthetic one, not meant to prevent printing the pages. Please visit the site often, as new information is being added all the time. Best wishes, Karima Yvonne Donnelly wrote: > > Hi, > I found it interesting regarding the Raynors in Freeport. Since I have > daughter now living in Freeport I tried to print the info out. Dear List Members, Some of you might have noticed that mail from Rootsweb Lists that you belong to might have been slow to non-existent over the past few days. This was due to a problem with the RootsWeb lists server. However that problem appears to be fixed now, so mail should start coming in. You may see mail a couple days old. The newer mail should still go through first, so the older will arrive at odd times. Maybe even before you see this. If, by this evening, you find that a message you posted has not yet appeared on the list, please feel free to send it to the list again. Karima List Owner/Administrator
Thanks for notifying me. Actually, I did send a message. It had to do with a photograph that was taken about 1860 in Riverhead at the Griffing Avenue studio of "Edgar Raynor, Photographer" of my great great grandmother Susan Ann Havens Downs and her parents Ezra Havens and Rosetta Sinclair Havens. Please let me know if you have any info on these people. Thanks. Kathy Downs
Hello, I just wanted to let the list members know that my ISP was out of commission off and on over the past few days and I know that some of my mail bounced. If anyone wrote sent me a personal message and has not received a reply, the chances are that the message did not get through to me. Best wishes, Karima List Owner/Administrator
Hi, I found it interesting regarding the Raynors in Freeport. Since I have daughter now living in Freeport I tried to print the info out. But it didn't work because of the yellow ink. I was wondering if maybe you did't want it to be printed. You did a nice job with it . Thank you for the information. Yvonne
I am searching for information on my great-great-great grandmother NANCY (ELIZABETH?) RAYNOR b. about 1783 place unknown (maybe MD) and d.1839 McMinn Co. TN. She married William Abraham "Bart" DOTSON (DODSON) around 1796 probably in NC. They had 12 children. She may have had a brother HENRY..
Good morning! For anyone with an interest in early Freeport, Long Island, I would like to invite you to take a look at the "Clippings" section of the Raynor Family Web Site. The articles in the newspaper clippings there were written in the early 1940s and mention a number of the families who lived there from the time it was first "Raynor South" then "Raynortown" and finally "Freeport". http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/RaynorHistoricalFreeportIndex.htm Best wishes, Karima mailto:quest@springnet1.com =========================================== THE RAYNOR FAMILY WEB SITE http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/Raynor.htm Owner/List Administrator of: RAYNOR Surname Discussion List (RAYNOR-L) http://userweb.springnet1.com/quest/RaynorListWelcome.htm
