Hello everyone, I have been reading the messages on the list for awhile and thought I should put a query in myself. Although, I do notice that most of the queries seem to concern the United States, rather than England. My husband's g-g-g-grandparents were Samuel Ratcliff, bc1780 and Sarah Ratcliff (ne Hammond or Josselyn), bc 1780. Samuel was a farmer in Toppesfield, Essex. Sarah's parents were Hugh Josselyn and Mary Hammond. Their children (all born in Toppesfield, Essex, England) were: Charlotte Marian Ratcliff, b January 1804 Samuel Ratcliff, b 10 April 1805 John Josselyn Ratcliff, b 08 December 1806 James Ratcliff, b 06 November 1808 Laura Ratcliff, b 23 June 1810 (This was my husband's g-g-grandmother, who married Henry Boyden Croyden) John Ratcliff, b 01 April 1814 Thomas Ratcliff, b 16 June 1817 I would be interested in making contact with anyone who is also researching this RATCLIFF family. I do not know whether any of them emigrated to either the U.S., Canada, or Australia but it could be possible. Louise Croyden Burlington, Ontario, Canada
