Joseph RATLIFF believed b. abt. 1815 in Mississippi / Kentucky / Tennessee ? 1842 on Tax List for Carroll County Mississippi 1843 m. Sarah BARRENTINE in Carroll County Mississippi 1848 Land Records - 80 acres & 13/100 of an acre in Attala County, Mississippi 1850 Census Attala County, Mississippi states birth in Mississippi ? 1860 Census DeSoto Parish, Louisiana states birth in Kentucky ? 1861 Possibly another Marriage to Mary Johnson (widow of John Aten) ?? 1864 Married Elizabeth GIBSON (widow of H. P. Simmons) in Louisiana and had two more children, Jesse R. & Elizabeth 1868 - 1870 Removed to Somewhere in Texas ?? Joseph & Sarah's children were: William, Margaret, George, James Pinkney, Greenberry, Martha, & Joseph. Joseph & Elizabeth's children were: Jesse Robert b. 1865 in Louisiana and Mary Elizabeth b. 1868 in Louisiana. About 1870 Joseph and children of 1st marriage, removed to Texas. Wife #2 Elizabeth refused to move and stayed in Louisiana with son & daughter. Any assistance or connection greatly appreciated !!!
